Lana Thompson is a certified Professional in Human Resources who is an organizational consultant and training designer and facilitator.
As an independent consultant, she focuses on improving HR processes, teamwork, communications, leadership, customer service, and personal effectiveness in the workplace.
In addition to organizational consulting and one-on-one coaching she has developed and facilitated numerous customized workshops and teambuilding sessions to set common goals, solve problems, and improve effectiveness, productivity, constructive communications, and organizational effectiveness in the workplace. Lana worked on a project which was selected as a semi-finalist for the USA Today Quality Cup in 1998. She designs and facilitates teambuildings for project partners for the purpose of setting common goals and improving methods of working together for project success. Her clients include Alabama Power, BE&K Construction, Inc., ! Books-A-Million, Eastern Health Systems, Housing Authority Birmingham District, ITC DeltaCom, Jefferson County Department of Health, Jacksonville State University, Lucent Technologies, Mercedes-Benz US International, The Prism Group, Rust/Raytheon, Savannah Electric, Siemen s, State of Missouri Division of Family Services, State of Illinois Department of Human Services, Southern Company, United Defense, US State Department Foreign Building Operations, US Federal Bureau of Prisons, US Army Corps of Engineers, UAB, and the University of Alabama.
Lana graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Communication Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She served two terms as Vice President Member Services for the Birmingham Society of Human Resource Management in 1998 - 2000, and is currently the Mentoring Program Coordinator. She served as Vice President Programs for the Greater Birmingham Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development in 1999 2000, and currently serves on the ASTD Board as Member-at-Large.
